to be honest, I really don't feel the need to give a reason
I'm just really bored and there's an issue I wanna touch on in regards to the code.
it seems like there is a common misunderstanding of the Jedi code that exists in all force communities. I've even posted in topics about it here. And I'm no exception, I'll admit it, I was once an idiot who said
"no passion? no emotion? who wrote this crap?"
It seems even Jedi don't like it because they had to label it "the orthodox code" and accomodate like politicians would accomodate retards and make the alternative code, which makes me smile and giggle.
So I'm gonna cover the first two lines of the Jedi Code and the first line of the Sith code. Yes I'm reviewing the codes, sue me!!!!
So the first two lines from my memory ( correct me if I'm wrong) are :
there is no emotion, there is peace
there is no passion, there is serenity.
Right off the bat I can easilly see how this can be misinterpreted, as one of the people who did that. I'm gonna make a bold statement and say : most people ( including Jedi) translated this to say "for a jedi, emotion and passion must not exist". The code isn't saying this at all. Granted, it can be taken that way. But I'm fairly certain this wasn't what the guy was trying to say. From my own reflection and input from others ( you know who you are and thank you) I think I might have realised what the author was trying to say with the code.
He wasn't dismissing nor denying emotion or passion ( nawww, you guys) I think the author was trying to say that for a Jedi who wants to find peace and serenity, he must make them his priority. And not let emotion and passion get in the way of that path to serenity and peace. Emotion and passion are good and healthy things, even for Jedi, but I think the guy was saying to Jedi that part of being one is the path to peace and serenity, because passion and emotion can really derail paths to concepts of that "zen" type nature.
Now we get to the first line of the Sith code, * sighs*. Why the hell does this line exist? it's like a bad joke, and I'm fairly certain that's how it came to be.
sidvkili solved the case ::
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
It's almost a "well duh" as it is a "how the hell did somebody buy this crap?". It just annoys me how it feels the need to directly contradict the Jedi code. And it didn't even do that right!!. Anyway I digress. Why do I feel this line is bad? because peace ain't a lie , sure we're warlike in nature but I don't rip everybody's head off, why can't things have passion yet be peaceful? Don't monks devote their life ( passion in my eyes) to peace? so they can.... but then again they do martial arts. ( nobody is gonna argue that because it's awesome).
So wait Mike, you say the Jedi code isn't a piece of total crap but you think the sith code is? Aren't you a darksider? You trickster!! get back in the kitchen!
hey who said that? XD
Yes, I don't disagree with the Jedi code. I reject it on the basis that I'm not looking for peace, serenity etc. My life doesn't have that and isn't about that, I love my emotions and passion too much to sacrifice them. I'm not on a search for Peace and Serenity, I even disagree with the concepts to a certain degree because they have no real place in my life. My life is about passion, yeah without serenity and peace it can be painful. I just don't see that as a bad thing
